Call to Repentance

Repentance in Hebrew is Teshuva, a turning around or Returning to God and to the Path God desires for us.

So the call to repentance is deeply linked to Mission and evangelisation.

A call to repentance which reflects our Core Values of Love and Mercy and within the paradigm of Healing the World should not be a message of fire and brimstone, evoking God’s wrath and convicting people of (or making them feel bad about) their sins. If that is necessary, it is the job of the Holy Spirit to convict, not ours.

Our task as members of this ‘peculiar priesthood’ is to make the path of Repentance, of Return to God, attractive and desirable.
