Rule

Religious Orders and Monastic communities live by a basic Rule, or Way of Life.

The Rule of the Celtic Order

The Rule of the Celtic Order is as follows:

  • Consecration to God

– Through The Disciplines

  • Service to fellow man

– By pursuit of The Weightier matters of the Law

  • Healing the World

– By exercising our authority as Christians in the offices of ‘prophets, priests and kings’ in the Order of Melchizedek. (see also Tikkun Olam in the Jewish section)

  • Personal Spiritual Formation

– By seeking to develop The Fruits of the Spirit, The Gifts of the Spirit , and The Virtues, with reference to The Beattitudes.

You will see that there is a great deal of overlap and inter-connectedness between all of these aspects of the Rule.
