The most basic teachings of Christianity, to which most groups identifying as Christian agree to:
– Belief in God as the Father, Jesus Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit
– The birth, life, death, resurrection, and ascension of Christ
– The holiness of the Church and the communion of saints (although this is defined differently across different denominations)
– The second coming of Christ, the Day of Judgement and salvation of the faithful.
This rather dry, intellectual assessment is in contrast to the spiritual, experiential approach which looks at Christianity not a meaningless form of religion, but a vibrant relationship with Jesus.
