Shema

שְׁמַע יִשְׂרָאֵל יהוה אֱלֹהֵינוּ יהוה אֶחָד

“Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is One. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your might” (Deuteronomy 6:4-5)

The ‘Shema’, or The call to ‘Hear’ or ‘Listen’ is considered the most important prayer of Judaism. It is recited twice a day, morning and evening.

It is also contains the answer Jesus gave when He was questioned as to which was the most important commandment.
