Tzadik

Tzadik is the Hebrew word for saint. It means ‘righteous’ (one).

Interestingly, the Hebrew word is related to the word tzedakah, meaning charity (act of compassion).

The Protestant view is that all believers are ‘saints’. But are all believers righteous?

In the sense that Christ imparts His own righteousness to us, we are righteous. But it can be somewhat distressing to see the mismatch between the spiritual and physical realities.

It should be every genuine believer’s purpose to pursue Tzedakah.
